Q: How do I sign my child up for a team?
A: Click “JOIN A TEAM” in the menu bar at the top of the home page, then scroll down to your child’s school or to our Saturday morning Coyotes Run Club. Once you fill out the registration form, sign the waiver, and submit your payment, you’re all set. Afterward an email confirmation will be sent to your inbox.
One week prior to the start of the program, you will receive a team email that outlines the following:
what to expect
how our program works
details of picking up your runner after practice (for afterschool programs)
what to wear and bring to practice
who your coaches will be for the season
who is on our team roster
what our expectations are for the season ahead
Q: My child doesn’t have any experience running on an organized team. Is Kids Run an appropriate program for her to join?
A: ABSOLUTELY! We welcome all levels and abilities. We love it when kids try running for the first time. Our goal is to make it a wonderful experience so kids fall in love with running and health and fitness.
Q: How many kids are typically on a team?
A: It depends on the size of the school, but the minimum is 16 and the maximum is usually 24-30, unless we have extra coaches and/or parent volunteers. Our school programs are geared toward 1st-6th grade only. Our Saturday Coyotes program can accommodate more athletes, including 10 Kinder Coyotes, who are ages 4-5 years.
Q: What should my runner wear for practice?
A: We recommend athletic shoes and comfortable clothing for working out. Depending on the weather, shorts, joggers or leggings are usually best with a t-shirt or sweatshirt on top. Your runner will be given a Kids Run team t-shirt, which can be worn at each practice.Use your best judgement for your child, but athletic clothes are far more comfortable than jeans and Crocs. Being dressed comfortably for action also helps with the fitness mindset. This does not mean you have to go out and buy a ton of new expensive gear!
Q: I don’t see my child’s school listed. How do we start a Kids Run program at our school?
A: Reach out to Coach Becky via our contact page, and provide your school’s name and contact info. Together we can work with your school to try to make this happen.
Q: What is your refund policY?
A: We are unable to offer refunds because we provide many custom items for each runner. These items are specific to each child so they cannot be repurposed for other athletes.
